Sometimes you need to plane or trim into a tight corner, and an ordinary hand plane just won't work. The plane sticks out too far in front, preventing the plane iron from reaching into the corner.
The solution is a Chisel Plane, a special type of plane with an iron that sticks out in front of the body like a chisel. Having the iron extend out in front allows you to get into those hard to reach places without having the plane body get in the way.
Our Chisel Plane is a exactly what you need in these circumstances, and it just happens to be one of our easiest kits to build. All you need to do is install the plane iron, do a little sanding and shaping, and apply a few coats of finish.
The solid hardwood cap and body are pre-cut from kiln-dried stock and come with a thick, 3/16" plane iron made of high quality hardened steel. Our detailed instructions show you how to assemble, adjust, and use the plane. |
