All it takes is a scroll saw and a light bulb to create some holiday magic. Plus, the removeable panels make it easy to change the scenery.
Lights and the holiday season always seem to go together. And thats the basic inspiration behind this holiday project. We based our design on an old-fashioned lantern. But instead of glass sides, we used wood panels with scroll-sawn patterns. And instead of a wick, we substituted a small light bulb. So when you turn on the switch, a warm holiday scene lights up.
We had a lot of fun coming up with the design patterns for this lantern. In fact, we couldnt decide on just one. So you get four different scenes. The panels fit into grooves that are cut in the posts and top and bottom of the lantern. This way, you can make many different designs and simply change them whenever you feel like it.
